Welcome to
Jim Scott for Congress

I represent you, provided you have the following standards:
1.  Respect for the unborn.
2.  Respect for The Constitution and the law.
3.  Respect for veterans, civil servants, and especially law enforcement when done well.
4.  Respect for local business done legally.
5.  Integrity, truthfulness, transparency.
6.  Faith in God, and the church into the state but not the state into the church.  Bring back moral and ethical government like the Founding Fathers of America started.
7.  World peace whenever possible.
8.  Fair and equal access to world resources for all.
9.  Education without special interest interference.
10.  Fair taxation and balancing the budget, with enforced accounting for spending.
11.  Adequate time for lawmakers to review bills before voting.
12.  Fair and transparent elections.
13.  Housing solutions adequate for all the homeless.
14.   Appointment of judges who are not politically biased and who exercise good judgment according to The Constitution.
15.  Reduced cost for education, both in trades and non-trades.
16.  Minimizing red tape for businesses, while protecting the environment.
17.  Cleanup of old business properties to end civic blight.
18.  Protection of clean water, and provisions for future water needs.  Protection of farmlands from urban spread and energy farms.
19.  Help for young families, veterans, and criminals who have served their sentences:  training, affordable housing, education.
20.  Social security funding by including more sources and higher levels of income for taxation.
21.  Reduced taxes on the lower and middle class earning under $200,000.

I have lived in the district since 1949.  I was, with Frank Walterscheid, co-winner of the Scholastic Award (boys) in Del Paso Junior High School, and graduated from Grant Union High School in 1965.  I enlisted in the US Air Force for service during the Vietnam War, and was transferred to the US Air Force Academy as a cadet, graduating in 1971.  I was Assistant Executive Officer, Office of Command Data Automation, Military Airlift Command where I was elected by my peers as Junior Officer of the Year, Scott AFB IL.  In 1974 I went to Undergraduate Pilot Training and graduated in 1975.  I flew and became Aircraft Commander in the Lockheed C-141A Starlifter as Senior Pilot with 2000-3000 hours.  The USAF was reducing force size, so I was honorably discharged with the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1984. Normally, I would have flown for the airlines, but they were going out of business (remember Pan Am?) at the time, and pilots were a dime a dozen.

My family started a small gourmet popcorn business in Old Sacramento, and successfully ended the business in 2004 after 20 years.  I spent more time in home improvement sales for many companies, including The Home Depot, where I was the only salesperson to earn the Fast Start Bonus, and was soon a Selling Sales Manager in charge of the largest district in Northern California.

I love science, and began work as salesperson for solar pv systems for residences, working with several companies, which is where I work now.

I do not owe any special interest group any favors, as I am self-funding my election.  I realize I am up against a Democrat in a Democratically-strong state.  However, when the going gets tough, that's when I grin and get it done.

If you want a conservative in office who votes for the good of the people, not the good of the party, you need to vote like it.  Nothing will change if you keep doing what you have been doing.  It didn't work last time to vote for a Republican.  You may not realize that a Republican candidate is locked in to Republican voting.  How has that been working for you?  Doesn't it make sense to take the risk?  I am.

Vote for Jim Scott for U. S. House of Representatives in 2024.

For your grassroots funding:

You want politicians to be honest, look out for the best interests of all of us, right?  Well, don't starve them of funds needed to be elected.  When you do, they will either to to special interests or not be elected at all.  Either way, don't you lose?  How much do you really care to make a difference?
